Can anyone recomend a good insurance company for Photography Equipment?

Although I have a basic Nikon SLR camera, I worry about takign it out as it was over £400. Only to be used for personal photos.

Photography gear is a household item and can be covered by a typical home insurance policy.

If you are using it in a professional manor, that's different and would probably require a business policy of some type.

But if my camera is out of the house when it gets broken or stolen, I'm not covered by my House Insurance policy :-(

Sorry forgot that this site is in America and you have different rules for Home Owners Policy.

Any Brits looking at this forum though are welcoem to answer my question

My home policy does cover loss or damage, even when out of the house. You could be right though, maybe it's different on your side of the pond.
