So yesterday I figured out my issues with the 80-400VR and it comes down to modifying my technique of shooting. They key is to keep the VR active and give it time to kick in. I am used to shooting instantly and with VR when you depress the button you have to give it time to kick in and start adjusting. I do not like it but now that I know the problem I can work around it. Out of the 500+ images I shot yesterday almost all were keepers and I came away very happy with my new technique.
These are some of the International flights I shot yesterday at Toronto International Airport. It was –25C with the wind chill but the lighting was excellent and that is all that matters…and the fact the camera worked in that kind of cold
Air Transat, Canada A-330
Austrian Airlines A-340
Air France A-340
Delta, USA Boeing 737
Henn Leasing Gulfstream GIV
Cubana A-320
Olympic A-340 kicking up the snow
Skyservice, Canada A-320 into the setting sun
I'm still trying to warm up after yesterday :goodvibe:
