IR photography giudes

I got myself a filter for my camera (720) and wanted to know if there are any online guides on how to take IR shots. I'm assuming this isn't something I can just put the filter on and take a shot. I'm sure there are settings I have to change to get some good shots as the first pictures I took all turned out red, so obviously I need to learn more. :study:

If anyone here could give me some tips, it would be appreciated.

Start by setting your white balance as cold as it can go. If you have a kelvin setting then set it to 2000K. If you have a whitebalance from photo then try and photograph some grass for your whitebalance photo.

The rest really is down to processing.
