What's new

Is there such a thing as a cheap backdrop?

Black posterboard at my local store for $3.50. Stick the subject 5 to 8 feet in front of it in a dark room and light only the subject.

I picket up a piece of cloth from the local fabric store. 10ftx4ft-ish. I think I paid $7 for it. Just a tad thinner than duck canvas, and about the same reflectivity on one side. The other side is slightly more glossy. Works great for me. Just have to remember to iron it before a shoot. lol

get grey muslin. I can't even begin to tell you all the different backdrops you can obtain from it. you can make it white, black, or any shade between. you can gel a flash, fire it on there, and have color. you can print out a design on transparency, flash through it and the design will show up, you can combine the gel and the transparency ....possibilities are endless.....

Again, thanks guys/gals, i'm going to the fabric store today. i'll let you know what i come back with. ;)

Sheets, blankets, shower curtains, table clothes, curtains, fabric, lots of things :)

I have found a site PhotographicBackdrop.com that offers wide collection of backdrops. In here, you can choose your desired photo backdrops that would match your photos.

FabricLand where im from had a meter of it for 4$ which was good enough now i want to go back and get more.
