I plan to keep camera in my car , so anywhere nice can get shoot >>€ :1247:

It makes people a little uncomfortable to see a stranger taking their picture. It is more obvious when using a DSLR. I agree.

I haven't had any one really notice when using a longer lens. Even if they notice me I suspect it still doesn't register that they are the subject. With a shorter focal length most definitely. That's when I wish my camera had a tilt monitor.

So . . .
Do as you please, and ignore what others think.
If you are so concerned about what others think, then use your phone camera. Problem solved.

I concern they blame me show up :02.47-tranquillity: person

Some people will assume you are an intrusive paparazzi. Others will think you are a photojournalist, or an enthusiastic snapshooter. Some places-casinos, court houses, etc, may not let you in with a camera. Take your camera everywhere you can, and behave in a professional manner....as if you, and your camera, belong there.

I look funny with or without a camera...

Don't feel uncomfortable about it. Just take the camera with you and forget about other people. I feel lost without my camera if I'm going somewhere. I could've missed something that I could've caught on camera.:allteeth:

By the time folks get past seeing the 260lb bald guy with the full face beard they hardly notice the camera. I have a camera with the rotating viewscreen so I may be walking and looking straight ahead but shooting left or right...................

I've carried my wildlife gear into a coffee shop before.

As long as I'm not imposing on someone then I couldn't care what others think.

Carry it wherever you wish.

your canon SL2 is as small as DSLRs get
if you want something small and sly, the upcoming Sony RX100 VI might be the one for you.

No one will think you are weird. At most, they may think you are a tourist. Who cares what they think? Do what suits you, and your photography.
