Hi people.
Im new to photography as you may tell by this question.
I set my camera on ISO auto and shoot and the camera tels me that the ISO was 160. But my camera only lets me set ISO in 100s, like 100, 200, and so on. Why is this?
My camera is a Sony a300

Thank you and any help would be great

I'm not a Sony person, but I'm going to assume (and not meaning to be rude) that's the way it's designed. ISO is really nothing more than a measure of your sensor's sensitivity. In the Auto mode, they have made it infinitely (or nearly so) variable, but for simplicities sake in the manual modes, they have limited you to set pre-set 'steps'.

Maybe you have your camera set so that you can only adjust the ISO in full or half steps...but in auto it uses a more precise scale of steps.
