I spent a week in Istanbul on a family holiday. I was amazed by not only the size and culture of the city, but the people I found...

As always comments & criticism welcome.

Cheers

Forgot to add- these were taken with a Canon 400D. One or two were taken with the 18-55mm stock lens, but most were taken with the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens. It was the first time I really got to test this lens out on the street and I loved it. Being a prime lens, it really forces you to get close up and involved in the photos.

Cheers

(sorry for double post, if I edit that post the photos mess up :S)

I'm not a big fan of black and white. But, I enjoy these. You captured the people and the personality. Number 18 is my favorite.

Personally I think these are great. I always love to see street photography from cities that I don't see it from too often to get a (however subjective) sense of life there. Looks like Ataturk/Mustafa Kemal is as popular as ever.

I really like the series. I love this type of photography and you captured them all very well.

#1,7 & 8 are my least favorites but they're still pretty cool.

Not being a professional I can't give you any constructive criticism, sorry. ;)

Thanks for the comments guys.

Bull Goose - your right, every photographers take on a city is generally subjective to how they wanted to capture it. In this set I aimed to portray the traditional and local life of the city. However, there is also a very modern side to the city, which although is in complete contrast to the old city, is equally as charming. I was surprised at just how cosmoplitan that part of the city is.
