It has been made clear to me

Have you ever thought about all the hype in the media you may cause in 700 years when some over zealous explorer discovers your remains and determines that you must really be 3000 years old and humans have de-evolved to only two kidneys?

Haha It will blow their minds!!

Actually, the way they are harvested and implanted it would be no secret. The original left kidney is turned around and used in the right front (and vice versa) so the arteries are pointing the correct direction. The grafts (splices) are very appearant as there is scare tissue at the junctions.

Crumb, never even thought about the 'complications' regarding arteries and the likes. Interesting (though not fun to deal with personally I would imagine!)

Dunno for sure, and im sure thats why they sent an E-mail, and not a PM

Not trackable....

Just to let you know that it wasn't my email either. I did report the post I commented in though and asked that a Mod drop you a PM on the subject. Seems LaFoto did just that. I have no issues with you being here, but the hijack did seem to be more than a shade over-done and needed to be tempered somewhat.

I suppose it's appropiate for me to chime in here. I've already PM'd Scott. But for the rest of the googgling eyes, since I was the last loud mouth on page 3, I'd like to declare that it was not me that sent any sinister e-mail to Scott.

Mind you, I have another stain on the front of another pair of trousers now. (somebody may get that joke)

I am pleased to report that my friend had one of the first transplants and still doing well after over 30 years - in the early days the anti-rejection regeme was a Bu**er to live with but is has been worth it. Now just a miserable old sod like the rest of us and we forget all that he went through back in the 70's.

Just looking up the list and saw how much you "spammer" counters had pushed up your score just on this thread . . . .Must away and post some pictures to keep on the right side of the moderators!

The first transplant done at my hospital was in the early 1970's. The donor was the identical twin of the recipient. They both are doing very well. In the early days, the only anti-rejection med was perdnisone. It sucks, adds weight, kills your immune system, and weakens your bones and joints just to name a few. The first generation of drug that was designed as a real anti-rejection drug was called Cyclosporn. It was in a caster oil base, yuk. I took that until 2000. We now have a couple generations of better drugs with either fewer side effects, or other side effects depending on what your other issues are. Enough about me. Sorry to hijack your thread Scott. If we want to talk about this more, we can start a OT thread.

It would suck if Scott left I'd be left with one less person to post with in the thread that shall not die (quite yet).
