Weather wise that is.....

But i thought i would get out and take a few snap shots after work anyway.....It was blowing a gale today over cast and shower's.

Now this 1st shot i really happen to like but i am asking myself is there too much sky? should i have focused more on the tower to the left of the photograph?

The same applies to photo#2

Thank you.

Well, since nobody else has commented, I'll give it a go. In my opinion, the first one would actually be better without the tower. I really like the water, and the silhouette of the ship, but the tower takes away from it. It makes it hard to know which is supposed to be the focus of the frame. I would really like it cropped putting the horizon on the bottom third, leaving a shoreline to give perspective and putting the ship just slightly off center. That's how I see this photo, anyway.

The second one is also nice. I would like to see the exposure brought up a tad, and I think it would have been nice to have the tower in focus. I'm guessing you were focusing on the ship. It seems you weren't exaggerating when you said the conditions were crappy, either. I think number two could be pretty cool as a sunset or twilight shot.

Anyway, that's just my two cents, hope it helps.

You would not beleive those two photo's were takin with in an hr of each other. The 1st photo the weather looks calm but it was not.
The second photo you can see more of the white capping in the lake & cloudy skies.

I will have a play around with these and see what transpires.

Thank you so much for your comments and suggestions.
