I've been through your photostream a few times, your zoo shots are fantastic.

Much as I like the shots I do have to mention that the second shot is a bird and the third is a lion. Neither of them are gibbons, I'm pretty sure of that.

There not? Huh. Is there like a book or something I could get for this? Lol

Nice shot Robbin, even if everyone knows they're reptiles, not Gibbons

I thought Gibbons were reptiles. Man. Ok, guess it's time for a copy of "Understanding more than just exposure, learn what the hell critter your shooting" by that whats his name guy.. lol

Well, not like I have a social life so why not. Ok.. well, just flipping through here.. an Axolotl. What the hell is an Axolotl? Yup, this is going to take some time alright.. lol
Now you've got a whole new challenge-for-life! One photograph of each ;) It might take more than just weekends at the zoo though.

Edit ... Here's an online listing if it's easier: http://lib.colostate.edu/wildlife/atoz.php?letter=ALL

Nice. I would just run some denoise software or noise reduction on the background of these though.

Back to your photos... I like 'em. And I wish I had a zoo within 50 kilometers and no ferry ride.

It remins me of my uncle Angelo from Palermo you can see the family resemblance.

Lol.. thanks folks for all the kind words of encouragement.

Baturn: I'm very fortunate to have one of the best zoo's in the world - The Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, just a short drive away. I'm even more fortunate that they have a pretty reasonably priced yearly membership or the number of times I've gone this year probably would have bankrupted me.. lol

To Bribus and Billm, my thanks - I try to get better each outing, applying what I learn here and from the reading I've done and mostly just being out there and enjoying myself.

To Scraig, Rick58 and Newtricks - guys, thank you. I've been laughing my butt off here, you guys always crack me up.

To Parker219, I can't believe that you can't see the total genius in my use of high ISO to achieve the artistically graininess which was done entirely for artistic reasons! Philistine! Neanderthal! Lol - ok, no not really. Truth is I need to invest in some noise reduction software but haven't gotten around to doing so yet, the Lied is kind of a challenging shooting environment when it comes to lighting. Do you have any favorites you could recommend?

I pay $9.99 a month for photoshop cc and lightroom, looking at everything I spend money on in a month, its a great deal IMO. Plus I never bought photoshop before, so its not like I paid hundreds of dollars already and still have to pay that $9.99.

Anyway, the photoshop noise reduction seems to work just fine. I do use the define 2 from Nik software as well.

If you want, when I have a minute later, I can reduce the noise on your lion photo with photoshop cc and you can see if you are happy with the results.
