What's new

It's been a while since I've had my a** ripped a new one...

If I'm using a strobe, what kind of light modifier would I want to restrict the light like that? A snoot? Or would that drop off too quickly?
Yup, a snoot would certainly be one way....probably the easiest. Example Here. Although, if your flash has a zoom head, you could zoom it out to narrow the beam.
You can also get grids for flash heads. Example Here.. You could also make your own with plastic straws. *edit* Example Here.
You could use flags/gobos to block & shape the light in your scene.

You can also experiment with using a snoot, but putting a diffusion material at the front. Or using a snoot with a grid. Plenty of options if you are creative...which I'm sure you are.

SORRY!

I changed the watermarks before I posted them anywhere else and deleted the old set off Flickr. I TOTALLY forgot that would screw up this post!

You should be able to see them now!

Darn you've been at this a year or so right? ?

I think I need to speed up learning or something soonish! You're getting good fast (then again I'm no use at critique on humany pics go to the zoo or something ;)).

Haha, yep! A year in April. :sillysmi:

...so I guess this makes about a year and a half at this point.

Thanks for the compliment.

The next time I go to a zoo or something I'll have a thread with your name on it. :sexywink:

Given the size of the scene, I think a set of barn doors with a grid would work well.

Agreed, I feel like I'm getting left behind in the OCF learning! Erose has come a loooooooooooong way :)

I think she was using a flash...I don't remember ever seen barn doors for a flash unit.

I was... but who says I'm not creative enough to DIY some? :sexywink:

I honestly didn't think about it before we did the shoot, but it's something I'll tinker with later if I decide to go the way of barn doors... how hard could they be to rig up?

Few bits of black card and some ducttape = barndoors
