- & its the most dismal grey day. I was determined to shoot something - anything & here are the only two shots that did not end in the trash.

The sun should come back in a couple months. :x

Gray days are very good for macro!

1) no real subject here.

2) good shot! You might want to play with it in photoshop to make the colors stand out more

How "warm" was it today, Ron? First shot doesn't do much for me, but I do really enjoy the second shot :)

Its 29 degrees, time to take this damn jacket off! Well at least it feels warm after how many weeks of consecutive -10 to 10 degree days and nights!

I really like the second one
First one is good, but I really like the second one better

Amen! Too bad it's looking like we're back with that crap next week though! :(

I really like #2. I might prefer it if the very tips of the branches were clearly in focus, but I like how you chose to just isolate a few branches rather than showing us an entire tree.

Totally agree with the idea of the tips being in focus. Remember that you get a plane of focus, so rotate your camera into position so that the points you want in focus line up on that focal plane.

Thanks for the comments folks.

It was only minus 2 degrees today but so dismal out. I was using my Tokina 35-105/3.5 today that I got for $24 including shipping. I am waiting for some nice weather to give it a real work-out & compare it to some other lenses in this range. However, I am rather pleased with this lens performance in the close focus mode that I used for the snow on Blue spruce photo. Here is an extream crop of the pic above shot @ f5.6.

I now have four lenses in this range so it should be fun to make comparisons.

You're a damn thief!!! lol You stole that lens!! :D
Good work there Ron

Here is my edit. I just felt it could use some vibrance and clarity and such.
