I was trying to get a picture of our Christmas lights on the little tree in front of our house. There was too much other light for it to work like I wanted so I turned this out. Looks more like Halloween.

I thought your cat sitting in the middle of the yard was the subject focus.

As far as shooting the Christmas tree lights, a close-up shot would work best.
