The pics i didn't crop, i don't feel they need any cropping because they contain elements that would take away from the overall image if removed. These are not perfect crops IMO bt they are close to something I would do (obviously... i did them lol)

Just some quick and dirty crops

try to see and feel how much more presence the band members are when they fill more of the frame

typically when someone see's a subject that has a lot of space around it, the photographer is trying to get the feeling of loneliness across. When i think of a band in a concert, loneliness is the last thing i think of. Make sure you background compliments the subject, not taking away from it. Sure I'm just some guy with only 35 posts giving advice but perhaps others can support my statements.

thanks again for commenting. Rehab I like the crops. I think I just resist cropping in a more square format. This comes from my landscape work I think. I don't care much for it but it doesn't bug me with people shots.

I've been a lurker for quite some time but I HAD to post to say I'm a huge fan of Jane's Addiction, especially Dave Navarro.... funnily enough I'm on a major JA trip at the moment! LOL! You have no idea how envious I am of you righ now, I'd love to see JA, I hope you had a blast!

Yea i hear ya i rushed and would have cropped to specific sizes but i am a fan of landscape as well.

Scarlet I am honored you came out of the woodwork for my post even if it has more to do with the band then the pics, I'll take credit for it. YOu should post more its better to participate
