This is one photo from the set I took the first time out with the Nikon 200-500mm. I like the lens, takes a little getting used to but it's a great piece of glass from what I've seen so far.

I agree, there isn't much movement. I was actually set up for a head-on shot at the apex of the turn, which high shutter speed doesn't matter for generally. There's just something I like about this photo.

I would have shot wider and slower to take in more of the corner, this shot is head on at 600mm 1/320 about 9 years ago when i shot sports on digital but now i have given up both and only shoot film

Way too fast on the shutter speed. Even if you're not specifically panning, you still want a slow enough shutter to at least give the wheels a sense of motion.
