Just my $0.2 about the wide angle distortion thing. I don't use a full frame body. I use a 20D, and I never use anything less than a 50mm (80mm equiv) and I can still see a tiny bit of distortion even there. My favorite lenses to use for portraits are the 70-200 f/4 and 85mm f/1.8. Unfortunatly, when space is limited you have to work with what you have. The light and the background in this picture are beautiful

It might just be me, but the hair kinda bothers me. Could it somehow be smoothed out so the little fly-aways aren't as noticable ?

The eye color is interesting!

great shot! did you use portrait professional or similar software? The whites of her eyes look post processed alot.
