The lighting, tonal values, complete lack of cars/pedestrians, and use of negative space lend a very melancholy, lonely feel to the image. The single light leads the eye to the railing at the far end. The only criticism I have is that the flare in the upper right adds nothing and actually creates a slight distraction in this instance.
