Just a girl in a hoop

Comments and criticism are greatly appreciated. I'm fairly new to editing anything other than a basic crop.

Huh...not exactly the same old boring flower blossom, kid, or t cat shot...it's an interesting and offbeat kinda' shot...I think a slight boost to the local contrast would help it; the lower tonal values seem a bit muddy, and gthe sky in the upper right hand are is very bright, but the other tones seem to kind of blend in together...I think it needs to have the contrast adjusted with some very careful post-processing work. I think it would also look better if seen set against a very dark background, like an on-screen matte. Or a matte and border.

I'm working trying all of your suggestions and will post an updated picture when I get it a bit closer.
