Maybe a little more contrast? And posting the actual pic would probably help. Do you have the color version?

It definitely needs more contrast - there's no black or white, just greys. Also, compositionally it's pretty straight-forward, you might consider trying different angles.

I like the way the rope is hung and how you captured the knot in the center of the photograph. To me, this is a pleasing composition. I also enjoy the texture between the rope and the wood.

I do however agree with the above poster that this shot needs more blacks and whites. The increased contrast would further bring out the texture of the subject and would give greater depth to the whole picture.

I find the photo itself a bit bland. It reminds me of Jesus hanging on the cross lol. Boost up the contrast and it may help
