Just bought a new camera for the wife

I took the plunge and got her a Nikon D60 m as well as a Nikkor 50-200 lens. I got it for 660 out the door for both. Now I need to learn what all the settings mean.

Very nice. I think everyone will agree with "understanding exposure", as well as some experimentation.

Understanding exposure, and practice. For understanding the settings, I would go with a book like David Busch's guide. I don't know for sure if he makes on for the D60 but I suspect he does

I just got the d60 a few days ago and I'll say read the manual. I'm halfway thru the manual right now and I'm learning new things everyday. Also, it may be a good idea to go pick up Bryan Peterson's book Understanding Exposure. It's a big help also.
