Just bought a Nikkor 60mm Nikon micro lens.

I have the 60mm f/2.8 micro. I really wouldn't say there are any tricks to it. It allows you to get really close to things and still focus. The scale on the lens will show you what ratio you are shooting at, meaning, it will tell you if you are shooting at 1:1, 1:2, and so on.

Shooting at wide open gives you really shallow DOF, blurring out the background. Stopping down to f/22 or higher and using flash will make the background go black while lighting up your subject. All of this is assuming you are using the lens for macro work.

If you need a manual call Nikon, since this lens is still in production they should have one. I have gotten them to send me a photocopied version for manuals that are out of print.
