Just finished my first football season...what do you think?

I'm a student photographer for a blog at Penn State; this was my first year shooting football. I used a 70-300mm VR on a d7000 body for the majority of my shots. What do you think? How can I improve?

Get tighter on the ball carrier, and learn to anticipate plays. You'll get it as you improve. As always look at others' work and see what the best are doing. NFL.com always has some great photo galleries from their best for the public to sift through if you need inspiration. I enjoy Walter Iooss from SI a lot as well.

Agreed about getting tighter on the ball carrier. You can crop a little tighter post-production, but work on getting a tight shot to begin with.

I might have tried a portrait orientation for the flag shot, or a wider landscape. Show more of the flag. Alternatively, it could have been good to get tighter on the soldier.
