Just got DSLR C&C+Tips

Hey guys! I just got a new Dslr yesterday, totally new to this. I took a few pictures around the house and backyard today, these are the *better* pictures I took. Tips truly appreciated, I am a super-duper beginner at this.

Welcome to TPF and the world of photography through a dSLR. There is lots to learn.

When we get a new camera we all do the same thing; photograph anything from our shoes to the backyard fence, just to see how everything works. Does not mean we should be posting these masterpieces and asking for critiques.

Give yourself some time to learn the camera, read up on some techniques, practice a few different things, and then come back asking for C&C.

Don't be discouraged by this response. You need to learn, as we all did.

Your flower photo is not bad. Now try and replicate the exposure while framing the image tighter and not so centered.

Be sure and read the camera/lens user's manuals to learn about all the features and functions that camera has available for you to use for making photographs. It's best to do that with the camera at hand.
