Just got my 50D, C&C welcome

It over exposed by quite a bit. There is no detail in the vest or her shoes. Almost every highlight in the photo is blown out. It's also cropped very tightly. Her shoes and the grass (flowers?) that she's holding are cut off as well.

same as above, over exposed, the crop doesn't work and I would have centered it for a vertical shot
