JUST GOT MY CAMERA !!!!

just got my canon elan II this morning. man this thing has more buttons and settings than this polock has ever delt with. I ordered a magic lanterns guide to my camera to help me learn how to use everything to it's fullest. Now i just need an adapter for my contax lenses to work on my elan body. I have seen some on ebay for around 20 bucks shipped. my question.. should i order one from a camera shop, or should these work fine?

also, does anyone use polarizing filters with black and white photography?

A very nice SLR you picked up there. Congrats on the purchase and especially for the desire to learn how all of those bells and whistles work!

You'll find using various colored filters will benefit you when shooting B&W, such as yellow, green, and red.
