Wrong "resize". I think what you did here is compress, which is not necessary. What editing software do you use? On mine, when I am finished editing, and want to export, I get choices of file extension type, compressed or not, and file size. I pick JPG, to fit within a 1024 rectangle, then I export, then I post.

To make things easy for myself, I "export" to my desktop, choosing the appropriate file type and size, which is, of course a copy of my edited photo, then, I just drag the photo into the thread on here. I can either keep the resized photo for another use, or just toss it in the trash.

I make sure that my landscape oriented photos are no more than 1200 pixels wide. You can resize in many photo apps. I personally use photoshop, but others work fine if you know how.
