Ka-Boom!!!!

Major lighting stom last night, went on from 9 pm to 2 am. I got a few shots, took me awhile to get the hang of it.

Wow...what a magnificent lightning bolt. I too was out last night but have yet to look at them. :-( our lighting here wasn't quite that awesome, I think we had just a few small strikes here and there. Awesome capture man!!

Great capture! Just a question but did you go outside for it? Because when I was trying to photograph lightning the rain on the window really screwed things up.

I was outside on a walkway. No windows but a roof.

@Prism:
I usually open my windows to photograph lightning. My windows are set back into the wall by about 40cm so it barely rains inside (one shouldn't mind a few drops though), except for very rare cases.
Closing every other window and as much doors as possible helps to avoid the wind howling through the room.
Just try to find a window that is not much exposed to rain in storms and try shooting trough the open window.
Going outside is not really an option for me as I have no rain-proof place nearby.
