Woohoo, what a rush!!! You've nicely captured the excitement and action. Their expressions are priceless (happy, excited, focused etc). What equipment were you using, and how far away were you?

bloody stunning!!!!

Pics are fantastic. #2 is the best, but all are great. Nice job freezing the action. How did you get enough light for 1/1000th? Was there that much ambient?

Thanks for the comments :D

There wasn't that much light indeed half the time it was snowing and sleeting!

I used my D300 and 70-200 f2.8 VR, at f/4 for most of the day had to crank the iso up now and again to get the speed up over 1/500th.

What the heck were people doing in the water then? Holy mother.......

JK:D, I love whitewater of any kind

Is that you OY?

Or you must know OY, seen similar pics from him, with some of the same people in them.

Wicked shots, you captured the action perfectly. #4 is my fave, fantastic expression, great wave to show what she's just come through.

If you guys don't mind the cold you should check out the Ottawa River in May sometime, nice big water, loads of class 3 & 4 to play on.
