Keeping camera awake?

I was wondering how i can keep my canon awake when using a wireless remote? Its pointless to have the wireless remote whenineed to keep running back to the camera to "wake it up". Im using a Canon 500D

Hmmmm .... look in your manual. My 30D has a time-out option in the menu and you can set it to no time-off.
