Keyword software

I'm looking for a way to organize my photos that's fast, easy and simple.

So far, I haven't found one.

All the programs i've tried--picasa, IDImager, bridge, and Irfanview--are very slow and are needlessly complicated. I'm just looking for a program that lets me create and assign keywords to photos so that I can view them by keyword.

Does anything so simple exist?
