I love number 4 for its simplicity

neat idea to have the sun directly behind the kite. works best in #1, for my taste! #1 actually looks like a fairy with two legs just coming down through a bright hole in the sky

thanks guys! =) you shoulda seen me running through the crowd looking up through my viewfinder, just to catch that damn kite right in the sun! lol!

Being a huge kite afficinado, I very much like these images; while they're technically fine, what I would suggest is try and compose in such a way that they have something to anchor them; that is, ground, people, horizon, etc. A kite, on it's own, isn't always the most interesting subject, but a huge group of kites, or a kite over the water, or ....


Just my $00.02 worth - your milage may vary.

thanks tirediron! i did try a few, but this was the only kite around yesterday and i couldnt get around to the other side of it, to get some nice "anchor". this one mostly had lot's of street lights and power lines, so i cropped them out where i could...
but i'll keep that in mind. i'm planning to go to tiananmen square one of these days. i should get some great kite shots there!
