On January 5, 2016, Kodak announced its plans for the so-called Kodak Super 8 Revival Initiative. Basically, they plan to offer new cameras, film development services, post production tools, and more. In a rather interesting twist, the new cameras will shoot motion picture film, but will also create digital versions of the shot footage! According to the article I've linked to below, this will be the first Super 8 camera product that Kodak has launched in more than 30 years. Kodak's first Super 8 camera was launched in 1965.

Here's a decent, short press release discussing some of the info surrounding this interesting news development.

Before I took any photography class I was doing stop motion Super 8 movies during my summers at the local museum. Mostly claymation, but a lot of painting and some people. Then a lot of splicing. So most of my filmmaking was just taking a lot of still shots (usually two or three of each movement). Went through a lot of cable releases.
