Kodak Pictorial Filters (Is there any info on these?)

There seems to have been a "find" of these recently. They're all over Ebay, etc.

However, a Google search on them produces nothing.

A search of this forum produces nothing as well.

Does anyone have any info on these? Are they a quality filter?

Wondered if you meant those series filters, and doing a quick search I see you asked on APUG - apparently that's what it refers to. Seems like they were pretty common and not particularly valuable.

I have some, the lower numbers were for earlier cameras with smaller lenses; by Series VI and VII they were sized to fit midcentury cameras. You just pop 'em on and off (edit-using the retaining ring depending on the camera), many were in orange or yellow etc. to use with B&W film I think.

As Sharon stated ... if you are referring to "series" filters, these have been around for a long time ... and do come up a lot on auction.
I had a bunch of these that came with a camera purchase. I would have kept them if I was a using my older camera's as often ... very handy, kinda like the old version of Cokin square filters.

However, the answer to the original question remains a mystery.

Yes, the standard Wratten series filters are used by many people and have had
much written about them. The question is in regard to "Kodak Pictorial Filters".
This is the name on the box and on the filter ring itself. (see images)

One guy is selling them by the case.

Again, from what I've found, no information exists on the internet on these
filters unless I'm just missing it.

This was just answered in a different forum.

It seems that "Kodak Pictorial Filter" was a name used for marketing purposes regarding standard wratten filters.

The link isn't working but I found them (and wonder where someone found cases of them in old new stock, maybe a camera shop that went out of business??).

They look the same as any other Series filters don't they? I realized I have some that say Kodak Wratten but don't think any of mine say Pictorial. Glad you found an explanation.
