Do the tech sheets line up? Are these T grain chemistry too?
T Max films tech sheet..... https://business.kodakmoments.com/sites/default/files/files/products/tmax100f4016.pdf

Also it seems similar to this T-Grain BW film for students back in the day......basically a cheap version of the T-Max films.

Do the new Ketapan film tech sheets the same or different than the Tmax specifications?
Development curve is about 96% the same so yes, same film but cheaper. Why cheaper, who knows, ask Kodak.

Bit of a puzzle. Just a new box? You'd know better but I recall some confusion when Kodak had parallel pro and consumer versions of some E6 and chromogenic materials, like the T-400CN and Select B&W.

I assume it's just a new box? Back in the day (I assume the same goes now?) the difference between "Professional" and "Amateur" films was when you bought a 10 pack of "Pro" film you were guaranteed to have the same emulsion batch per roll. This was critical mostly in the studio under very controlled lighting. That way you knew that the roll from the pack you shoot later will match perfectly.

Kodak Alaris still owns the naming rights to the films. So for Kodak in the US to be able to distribute film themselves in North America, they have to rename them.
