On my birthday we went for a drive to a town close by and it is where the 2 main rivers in Australia come together. This place is called the Murry/Darling Junction, which mean the Murray River and the Darling River.
While we were there I heard the sounds of the Kookaburra's and knew that there were more than just one in the area. I found a walking track and walked down it and finally came across them.
Though most were hiding the one I am showing came down low for what I think was a drink of water.
The time of the day was wrong and I was using my 600mm lens and it was really heavy by this time. I know I should have put it on the monopod but I did forget about it even though it was on my bag.
So you just have to go with what you have at that time.
The photos that are here are the same shot only one has been cropped and yes it could go more but it is where I liked it.

Nice shot.
As for the lighting, wouldn't be nice if the birds would perch with the sun to our backs. Inconsiderate buggers. lol

What an interesting bird. Nice

Thank you everyone.

Nice catch. They can make a right old racket when they get going :biggrin-93:

On this day there must have been about 4 to 5 and they were talking away and I just followed the sound to find only 2 but I know more were well hidden.
