Lake Charles, LA - Anyplace interesting in that area for photos

Hey, I'm hoping we have some individuals from LA who can give some recommemdations. I'm dumping a friend off in Lake Charles, LA next weekend and will hopefully have a few hours (very few, leaving from N VA on Friday morning and need to back by Sunday night, estimating an 18 hour drive each way) to do other things. I've never been to LA so any recommendations would be great. I also haven't decided if I'm going to spend any time in LC's or literally dump this guy and run. I may have another friend who is into photography coming along to help with the driving as well and we both would really like to do something else while down that way. We have also considered stopping for a few hours on the way back in New Orleans. Thanks in advance!
