Hi, I'm a student looking for some C&C on some pictures. I've never opened up to people about my photos and feel that it's time to see what other people's opinions are about my photos. Please, feel free to critisize and comment. Be aware please, I'm not a pro or even close. It's just a hobby, but I'd love to do it as more than a hobby one day. The following pictures are from my trip to Las Vegas last week. All are unprocessed and pictures were not planned/prepared. Thanks!

Hi! Welcome.

It seems as though you have a pretty good handle on how to take night shots, and that is a challenge for some people. Did you use a tripod or just a steady hand?

Otherwise...you said there was no planning and no processing...I would suggest that if you are going to get into photography you should really put an emphasis on these two things. Its sort of a shame that you were in Vegas and you like photography but you did not plan out any shots. That place is like a photographers playground. Knowing how to use the camera is a great start...but its equally important to have a plan in mind of how to want to capture your subjects...fill the frame...keep wandering people out of your photos if you can help it...have a clear subject. These are all things you could work on. Editing is always your friend, even if its very minor.

Thanks for the advice! No tripod, just steadied myself on whatever I could find. Will definitely prepare more next time. I was there for other reasons this time(somebody else was paying for the trip) and photos were not on our agenda. I'll take everything you recommended into consideration next time. Thanks again!
