I like the colored ones way better then the b&w.

You have just missedfocus on all 3 of them looks like DOF, did you shoot at F1.8 ?

Yes that is always my prob my focus is never right, is it because i am using f1.8???

Was your aperture set to F1.8 up it to F2.8 and you will notice a difference

Yes i always shoot in manual and generally have it a f1.8 for these types of shots these were f1.8 with my 35mm i focus manually as well.... is it my error with my focusing(i always assumed it was) or is it becuase of the apature? Next time i will shoot a f2.8 and see what happens!

how did you soften the skin?

I like what you were going for in the first picture as far as composition. But yeah, the missing foot is a drawback. You can soften in photoshop after the fact or use a soft filter on your lens. Personally, now that I'm digital I don't bother with lens mounted filters except for a UV filter and do everything else post op.

Do not like the over softening of skin.

What are you using for lighting? If this is a product shoot and Im assuming its both the skirt and headband I would have the lighting set up for the other side of the face to make sure the product looks its best.

yes that is the right concept it is an MCP one

im just a noob, what action?

From what I understand, an action is kinda like a preset that gives a desired looks with as few clicks as possible. I could be entirely wrong though...

If u are using MCP try thier high deff sharpining one on the eyes nose mouth and any other place that isnt skin
