Layla - 10 Months Old

Layla is growing up so fast and learning new things every day She just turned 10 months and here's a few snapshots I got over the past week or 2.

For lighting I used the Bower Ringlight Flash and the natural light spilling in from he sliding glass doors for fill light. I also used the Canon 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS lens which is nothing short of amazing!

Here is what the camera looked like, but I was hand holding taking the shot.

How do you like the ringflash? I've been looking at them, but just haven't made the jump yet.

It works pretty good, especially for the money. It's only $100 bucks! It's only good for close range though as it's designed for Macro. I had pretty good results for portraits up to about 6 feet or so. Beyond that it just doesn't seem to have the juice.

Quick question...why is her hair so much darker in that first picture?

Thank you The ambient light was very low in the 1st image. The others were in the sunlight.
