Focus isn't sharp enough to grab the attention such a close up image demands.

The whole leaf is the subject, not just the bug. I didn't even notice the bug until processing

I understand but the left side is considerably more out of focus than the right side. However, by de-emphasizing the left side by darkening (or whatever means works best for you - this is just a suggestion), then adding some curved adjustment layers to the right side with some selective sharpening, this could be one possibility of pushing the eye toward the spider and away from the OOF area of the leaf.

ya even if the bug was not there i still feel the leaf ceeboy did is a better edit... makes it pop
