I’d like to share this set of photos I captured at the Lee Ufan Museum on Naoshima Island, Japan. I’d appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

These are some nice shots. Since you asked, I might have toned down the sky a bit on the first one. On the second one I might have changed the camera position, and cropped it a bit, to show the pole more towards the right, not in the center. Thanks for asking for critique. It is nice to be able to give advice and not fear alienating the OP.

I like your choice of B&W for these. Nice!

Good leading lines in #1. I'd be tempted to crop some all around the frame, mainly to bring more emphasis on the subjects. The extra wall space seems to take up too much space in the frame.

I love the lone figure in the second one, and the sense of isolation - here, the extra space plays well. I don’t mind the pole being dead center with the figure approaching it.

I hesitate to say much about tonal values because I'm viewing these from my phone.

I think you have a good eye! Keep posting!

Thank you very much for your thoughtful feedback. I appreciate your insights. For the first image, I intentionally kept more of the wall in the frame because, as an architecture photographer, I wanted to highlight Tadao Ando’s signature concrete finish. The human figure serves only as a secondary element for scale, so the wall remains the main subject. Thanks again for taking the time to share your observations.

I wouldn't know this concrete finish if it came up and said Hi - that's a detail in the photo that went right by me. Glad you pointed it out.

It is impossible to give clear tips and advice when someone uses the 'not edit my photos' button, because a single edit can clarify a lot of things in many cases much more than words.

Thank you for your insights. I truly appreciate the time you take to look at my work. I prefer not to allow edits on my photos because I want to learn through my own process. If I simply follow the exact visual adjustments someone makes, I feel like I won’t develop my own judgment or understand the reasoning behind the changes. I’m trying to train myself to interpret verbal critique, experiment on my end, and improve through trial and error. Written feedback helps me grow while still letting me do the work myself, so I would really appreciate any guidance you can share in words.
