leica question

does the leica m6 havea selftimer? somebody told me that the m6 has no selftimer but what is that thing on the right side that kinda looks like a selftimer?

I know the M7 doesn't so I would assume the M6 doesn't either. I would like to know what that lever is too.

I got it, the lever is for the frame in the viewfinder. it moves depending on the lens you use and reflects a focal length-appropriate frame in the viewfinder.

My Leica book says that the M5 & M4 dose, but not M6, seem when the light meter was added, the self-timer space was needed for the battery compartment

Are you thinking about getting one?

You can buy a screw in self timer for $10, or the Leica brand version for $1000 (just kidding ).

Funny, but not totally untrue. I've wanted to get a Leica for a while but won't have the money for a while
