Lemonade and Peaches (1)

I grabbed this quick shot of a little girl at our local peach orchard yesterday. It was about a million degrees- thank goodness they were giving out free lemonade!

I think the branch on the left of the frame needs to be cloned out, but I'm having trouble with it right now. I'm going to do several edits of this and let the parents pick out a couple for some free prints, so any suggestions would be great!

Here are a couple of crops that've been suggested by a friend... I like them both and the first eliminates some of the brown grass I was struggling with in post.

That looks like the perfect amount of blur to the background. Just enough to seperate, just enough to see read whats going on.

Thanks everyone! Bitter, I was hoping that the background would give it a little interest without being too overwhelming. I wasn't sure if it was TOO blurry to do that, so I'm glad to hear it's not too far off the mark!

I'm sorry that the watermark is distracting- really, I am, and I appreciate that you've taken the time to comment in spite of it- but for now it really needs to stay in a place where it's not quite so easy to crop out.

Good photo to start with!!! As Bitter mentioned, the degree of background blur is very nice, very agreeable. I think tripling the size of the watermark font (at least triple; quadruple might be more intimidating) would improve the photo however....I would be very tempted to make it really really really BIG, so that somebody with a lemonade stand, or a peach orchard, will not be tempted to steal the photo.

I've made another watermark that I think you'll like MUCH better! I feel this one more clearly establishes the fact that I am a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER and a very big deal on the internet. I'm SO ready to start charging for my work! I'm off to start a thread on how much I should charge! Fwee!

Wow! the watermark in the last photo is amazing

I really like the first photo. The leaves going along the top frames it nicely and you lose that with the crop, I also think that the crop (in #2) brings the background forward so you are more aware of the figures behind her especially the guy just below her ribbon. On my screen, the photo looks natural and not over processed. If this were my daughter, I would be delighted with this photograph :thumbup:

Thanks so much! I hope her parents like it. I've e-mailed them a link to the gallery and plan to send off a few free prints as soon as they let me know which of the crops and edits (I included a slightly desaturated edit to each crop since that seems so popular lately but much prefer the true-to-life colors myself) they like the most. I'd taken the original photo out of that gallery, but I think I'll add it back in case they prefer that crop.
