Lens advise - 70-200 f/4 IS

Thats not even worth responding to..... eh what hte heck

You are an idiot if you think that shooting an event matches to everyone else's activities or enjoyment. A little self centered aren't we? Honestly... do you really think shooting a dog show is the most physically strenuous activity that members of this forum partake?

A serious hiker would put you (and me) to shame when it comes to endurance... for them every ounce is extremely important.

Clearly what we have here is "whose is bigger" situation. In that case, I'd have to say go with the 2.8--longer, AND more girth....

How's that for tactless humor?

Although the 2.8L IS is heavy, I find it easily holdable all day. I have two cameras, with lenses and flashes attached around my neck all day at an event - plus a bag full of lenses and other stuff - and although I'm tired at the end of my days shooting, it's all worth it. the 70-200 2.8L IS is so good it's worth the little extra weight.

For another $300.00, you can have it all, 2.8 w/IS. I have the 70-200 f/2.8 L with IS, believe me it is worth the extra money. Why limit yourself for $300.00.
