Lens Choice

If traveling to a foreign country for the first time and you only want to carry one lens, what would be your choice? Shooting full frame digital.

Welcome aboard.
That might depend on what you like shooting. I have a 24-70 Nikkor as my walk-around; before that I used an old 28-85.

two answers mate ... depends upon your visual point of view
a)- if you 'look wide' normally, then a 24-105 might do it
b)- if you 'look long' then a 28-300 might do it
We all have our own visual / creative ways of looking at the world out there, and the chosen lens merely follows our preferences

personally - as I am travelling Oz for 8-months or so every year, my one and only lens is a 24-600, as I 'look long' for much of the time
