Lens Filter Help

I am currently looking for lens filters. I am planning on shooting midday to late evening tball and early morning to mid afternoon little league football. I have no clue what kind of filter to look for. Any assistance will be appreciated.

You don't need one. Polarizing filters will rob you of light. UV filters are pretty pointless. Color filters are for b&w.. etc

I would worry more about a lens hood than a filter.

Yep, agree with both of these.
I will also mention that a polarizing filter is ineffective when the Sun is more than 30º above the horizon, and/or more or less than 90º to the lens axis.
