Lens help

Are there any web sites that tell differences in lenses, etc?? I have only my kit lens as of right now, I want to upgrade but not sure where to start? I want a larger aperture---right now I can only go down to 5.6--not sure if there are any places where you can go to buy used lenses?? I have a Nikon D3000 so I am pretty sure I would want/need to stick with the auto-zoom!

Really depends on what kind of shooting you want to do. My first lens, and still prolly the one I use the most, and great value for the price, is my 50mm 1.4.

But keep in mind, if you want to keep your auto focus you will need an af-s lens.

That is only partially correct about auto focus and lenses for a D3000, in a couple of ways:

1. Older, Nikon AF-I lenses will also auto focus on your D3000
2. 3rd party camera makers also make lenses that will auto focus on your D3000, that are not designated - AF-S.
