Lens hood mounting?

This is a pretty specific question so hopefully one or two of you fine folks will know the answer, but can a 80mm lens hood for a hasselblad H lens fit a 50-110mm zoom H lens? I'm assuming they can I mean the dimensions of the lens seem the same for the width at least, but B&H also makes sure to write it's for a 80mm or 110mm etc..

Reason I ask is the 80mm lens cap is about 100 dollars cheaper than the other lens hood. If I can save a bit of money why not

80 mm lens cap?
Lens hoods are designed to work with a specific focal length, or range of focal lengths on zoom lenses, so the don't block part of the scene (vignette).

The 80 mm f/2.8 lens hood is a petal type hood, looks to be a bayonet mount and is very different from the 50-110 mm H lens lens hood.
The 50-100 mm lens hood has much more pronounced petals compared to the fixed focal length 80 mm lens hood.
I see a $34.05 difference in price between the 2 lens hoods.

Yeah I meant hood.. which is actually what I point in the title so obviously that was a typo in the body of the message, but thanks

It might fit physically but its going to give you vignetting at focal lengths shorter than 80mm.
