Hey all, i had a question. I have a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 D AF lens. I am planning on getting a Nikon D7000 in a couple of months. I was planning on selling the lens, BUT if it works with the D7000 then ill be keeping it.

Now my question is, will this lens work with the Nikon D7000? Noob here :blushing: sorry if its a dumb question, but I just wanted to be sure. I did some research and found different answers, so I thought I'd ask you guys. Thanks for the help in advance.:D

Yes it will work. I have that combo and it is a great combo.

THANKS a bunch!!! looks like ill be holding on to my lens.

The D7000 supports just about all nikon lenses, even the ancient manual focus ones. The only lenses that won't work are the pre-ai lenses made in the late 1950's and early 60's.

The nikon 50mm f1.8 af-d is probably the most universally recommended lens you'll find. I'd suggest using it as your main lens until you get the feel for your camera, and then decide on what your next lens should be. Warning, you'll be a bit disappointed in the image quality and low-light performance of most kit-level zooms after using your 50.
