lens suggestions?

What about the Tamron 17-50 2.8...I beleive it's around $500 and it's a very sharp lens.

that lens does look pretty good. that site also has a lot of good reviews on other lenses which is nice. i'm still not completely sure what i'm going to get, but i've taken to mind everything mentioned. thank you for your help everyone
